Another Fundraiser

Food does seem to be the way to students' hearts--and wallets--so here are a couple of fundraisers we're doing here:

1. Breakfast burritos. Every Tuesday before school kids can buy fresh, homemade breakfast burritos. We're doing this for senior class funds, so the kids donate the materials and the fund benefits 100 percent of the profits. Consistency is the key with this one--having burritos every week, because we only charge $1.50 per burrito.

2. Enchiladas. We have eight constitutent churches, and we put flyers in all of them offering the chance to have Sabbath lunch prepared for them on Friday. We sell a pan of enchiladas with sides of rice and beans all prepared and ready to heat & eat.

We have a very strong hispanic culture here, so Mexican food is very popular; you might want to revise the menu based on the preferences of your community.

Fundraising Idea

Another quick move to its own post, because it deserves it! (We've also been able to do fundraisers like this with Panda Express.)

As far as fundraisers go, I just discovered a good one in our area. One of the restaurants in BAAs neighborhood is Sweet Tomatoes (same company as Soup Plantation). It offers fundraiser days, which work like this: We set up a date with the restaurant, which becomes our fundraiser day. We get 15% of the bills we bring in. All we have to do is spread the word so we bring in as many people as possible. The restaurant even prints fliers for us to pass out, which must brought to the restaurant to distinguish our supporters from the regular patrons. You might not have this restaurant in your area, but you might want to check if other places will do it. It's a win-win situation!

First Question

(I'm moving this from a comment to a post so people can see it more easily and respond.)

Does anyone have a t-shirt or embroidery supplier that you have used and had a good experience with. preferably online since many of you are on the other side of the state.

Welcome!

Welcome to the SA Sponsors Forum. As discussed at Leadership Conference, I am hoping to maintain this blog to facilitate ongoing discussions of what we are doing with our various Student Association groups. This is the place for event calendars, suggestions for parties and banquets, fundraising ideas, organizational tips, and whatever else you may have to share. I really appreciate the willingness of everyone to come together and offer feedback, and hope that this will be an active forum as we progress with the school year. Please contact me if you have any questions or problems with this blog. I can't wait to see what everyone has to offer!
